A felt elephant was the first toy originally sold as a pincushion, created by the German Steiff company in 1880. Two year later, the Ithaca Kitty became one of the first mass-produced stuffed animal toys in the United States, which was sold as "The Tabby Cat". The name still sticks even today to one of our products.
